Hi I'm Claire (She/Her), and Clarified Bodywork is an LGBTQIA+ owned and operated massage practice I started in 2023 with an inclusive mission to make sure everyone feels safe and respected on my table. And I believe it is important for this message to stand out to let people know what they can expect. Below are a few important extra steps that I take to make sure clients in the LGBTQIA+ community feel safe and respected in my care, especially with receiving a service that already asks vulnerability of its clients. It is also a priority in my practice to meet the needs of trans and non-binary community members seeking my care.
This is a simple but important one, I will respect the pronouns that you write out in your intake or introduce yourself with.
In my sessions I like to remind everyone, you are in control of the session. I think this is even more important working with our community in a service that asks vulnerability during care. My sessions are not just customizable in the hands-on work we do; pressure, heat, positioning, and areas worked, but in allowing you to set your boundaries and change them as you need. Consent also yours to adjust or withdraw at any time, and that can be as simple as changing or excluding a focus area, working through clothes or sheets, taking a break, or ending a session if you need to.
I have customized my paperwork to better accommodate the wide range of gender identities and needs of clients in our community, if there are questions you think I'm missing to help take care of you please let me know and I will factor it into my next update.
The restrooms on the lower level where my office is are now gender neutral and right down the hall.
I am very busy behind the scenes and eager to learn and explore resources that will help me take better care of my LGBTQIA+ clients. It is an important goal of mine to make this practice not only inclusive and gender affirming, but to learn hands-on techniques that can meet the specific needs of trans and non-binary clients in the community with my practice. In long run I aim for proficiency that would allow me help train other therapists and make sure such care is more available.
If there's anything on your radar like classes, other providers in the community I can refer back and forth with, or other resources, please let me know!

These services are massage sessions for trans and non-binary people preparing for, recently recovering from, or managing old scar tissue and restrictions from a range of masculinizing to feminizing top surgeries. It is with immense pride that I now offer these services at Clarified Bodywork to help take care of gender diverse people in our community the best way I know how.
With massage I can assist people by helping their bodies calm, reset, and encourage their natural healing processes with techniques like lymphatic drainage, myofascial releases, Swedish massage along other gentle techniques with much focus on the neck, shoulders, chest. These techniques help manage pain, swelling, stimulate circulation and nerves where the healing process has the most need for it, and later on help break up disruptive scar tissue to help regain range of motion and comfort.
I have a separate detailed intake form to help plan these sessions with new and current clients alike. These sessions also start with 30-minutes added to the intro session to discuss goals, boundaries, consent, questions, and determine the most appropriate treatment plan for you.
Pre-Top Surgery Massage 60 & 90min- These sessions are more focused on stretching and opening up restrictions in and around the chest, improving circulation to help optimize recovery.
Post-Top Surgery Massage 60 & 90min- Post surgery work over all is slow, gentle, and very subjective depending on how far out from your surgery date you are, what surgery was undergone along with any additional procedures, and if there are any complications being managed. With more recent surgeries the work is lighter, may involve a reclined position and more supportive work to help manage swelling with lymphatic drainage techniques, and then further into recovery the work can involve more myofascial release and eventually stretching and deeper work. Even years out scars, pain, and limited range of motion can still be worked with.
This is only necessary if there are complications involved in your surgery, which if there are I will discuss upon receiving your intake form.
Not currently, which is why there is %50 percent off Intro sessions for this service to keep it accessible as I can. I'll be sure to keep you all posted as I come up with other options.
