Your consent is part of an ongoing conversation during your session. You can change your mind, at any time. You are in control of the session, and your comfort and sense of safety is important. If you feel the need to move on from an area, change the treatment plan, request adjustments, breaks, or even wrap up the session for the day, that is all okay.
I do! Especially if you are trying to decide if massage is a good fit for you, and you want to get acquainted with me and get a better feel for what it's like to work with me. I am more than happy to answer questions for you.
You can text me at 414-395-0681 or email me clarifiedbodywork@gmail.com to schedule time for a phone or video call.
Park in the back of the building and use the rear entrance to start.
Head down the stairs to the left, I have two signs posted.
Once downstairs, turn right in the hallway, at the blue Milwaukee sign, towards Face West Skin Care. This is suite 104 which we share. Her sign is slightly bigger than mine.
Head through the glass door by the tall lamp and you have arrived.
There are currently small, gender-neutral, single person bathrooms on the lower level just down the hall from my office. The lower level restrooms are especially low traffic and have seating in the hall for the rare occasion there is a wait. If the lower level restrooms are unavailable, there are similar but gendered restrooms upstairs on the main level.
That's totally okay and pretty common actually! I usually have a 5XL robe with a tie available if you need to hustle, and can wait if you would rather toss on your clothes. Either way I just pause the session timer while you're off the table and we'll pick up where we left off when you return.
Yes. The health intake form helps me plan sessions and make note of health conditions that may be contraindicated or harmful to work on for you, and require me to adjust the session accordingly. The consent portion is just as important, and that I know what boundaries you want to set and how to make the session most comfortable for you. Please let me know if you are having any trouble with the form, which will be sent to your email.
I always recommend taking off jewelry ahead of time, especially necklaces. Wear something comfortable that's not too much of hassle to get in and out of. As for undressing, that's set at your comfort level, I have people leave undergarments on and those that completely undress. Either way you will be under a sheet and a blanket at all times, with only the area I'm working on undraped for the moment. If you're not comfortable with that though, that's okay too! You don't have to undress and actually have a clothed session customization just to help put that option on your radar. I do recommend wearing unrestrictive and comfy clothing if you chose a clothed session, like something you would wear to the gym or take a nap in.
This is every session at Clarified Bodywork. Each time I am going to check in with you and your current needs for that particular session, and what your overall goals are. This is emphasized even more if you book online with all the modifications and considerations I have available to mark on your session.
For example. That can be as simple as relaxing with light pressure, and maybe you since you're going out afterwards, no work around your head and face, and no feet, due to medical conditions like neuropathy that make them too sensitive for you. Overall you may just want to sleep better and bring down your anxiety. This could also include adding a weighted blanket and custom music, low light to your session in addition to the hands on modifications.
Alternately maybe you went hiking and you prefer deep tissue work to tune up your muscles, and actually would like to focus on your feet and legs since you've got another excursion planned. In the long run you want your sessions to help you move better and minimize pain from your activities.
Each session is different just like each client is different.
Typically if there's soreness it lasts a day or two with overall improvement after it clears up. It varies with each person's tolerance for pressure, the nature of the tightness or pain point worked on, and how often they get massage. Increasing hydration and using moist heat (Soaks, showers, or hot water bottles are great) on sore locations will help speed this up. If you're sore for a longer period, then I will decrease the pressure or amount of work on the area accordingly to avoid this in the future.
If you book online, you can pay at time of booking via Massage Book which I have partnered up with square.
At time of check out I currently accept Cash, Debit, Credit Cards, and Paypal and now Venmo!
Yes, I have online codes and printable gift certificates through Massage Book HERE.
If you're having trouble redeeming a code, please reach out and I can look it up and assist in applying it or getting your giftee booked and set up.
